This landscape was taken on a short walking path in my neighborhood. There were a lot of surrounding bare trees, but I noticed that one still had its leaves. Although the leaves were dead, the contrast of their orange leaves looked interesting. I wanted to show that there can still be patches of color in a bare landscape. To take these pictures, I angled the camera upwards. I had to do this so none of the houses in the background showed.
This landscape was captured next to a playground. There was this large evergreen tree and this big patch of snow that I noticed and I thought it was the perfect scene. I tried to show how life can survive in harsh conditions, like the evergreen tree. Also, I wanted to capture a typical winter's day. To take the first photo, I wanted to center the tree as much as possible to make it the main focus. In the second photo, I took it at a low angle on the ground to really capture the snow and the tracks in it.
This landscape was taken while I was walking on a path. What stood out to me was how tall the tree was compared to the rest of them. Also, this tree was different because it had an orange colored wood and leaves still. I was trying to convey that things that are different and unique are sometimes the most beautiful and interesting. This tree was particularly difficult to photograph because of the angle. I had to point the camera upwards because it was the only good angle that didn't block the tree as much with all of the different branches.
This landscape was taken on a path that I encountered near my neighborhood. This to me shows how pretty the winter time and the snow can look. The path also looks more enchanting. The first photo I took at a standing angle to get a very raw and authentic look of the path. The second photo I took at a very low angle to capture the footsteps in the snow. I also think this angle makes the path look longer than it really is. The only problem I encountered while taking these photos is that my phone got so cold it actually died, and I had to go home, charge it, and come back to the path.
These photos were taken on an evergreen tree close to my house. What intrigued me about this evergreen tree was the way the snow draped on the branches and the budding pine cones. This conveys the subtleties and beauty in the simplest of things. It also shows that life always continues to grow. To take these photos, I took close ups of the different branches of the tree. I tried to balance the amount of pine cones throughout each photo to make it the main focus.
