This still life contains a collection of chocolate that my mom got me for Christmas. This is important to me because it has become an annual tradition for my mom to buy me nice chocolate and its something I greatly appreciate. Chocolate is also the ultimate dessert in my opinion. The way I set this up was for the first three, I arranged the chocolates in different formations that I thought worked. For the last photo, I randomized the arrangement by just throwing the chocolate on the ground and taking a picture.
This still life contains my favorite pens. I use these everyday to take notes in school and to just draw/doodle for fun. I love using these pens because I have so many colors and they make notes or writing much more fun and memorable for me. The first two photos were very organized arrangements. I just lined them up or spread them out. The last two photos were a little more random. I simply just toppled the multiple pens on top of each other.
This still life contains some very important shells to me. I obtained these shells at a beach in the Philippines. This was significant because that was my very first time going to a saltwater beach and to the Philippines. I wanted to make the experience memorable, so I found all of these different shells and sand dollars and I kept them. I set up this still life by placing each shell in certain positions. They were either all strategically placed next to each other or they were stacked.
This still life captures some of the embroidery yarn that I own. As a young child, I've always had this really creative side to myself and I always wanted to do arts and crafts projects. Embroidering is one of those projects I picked up over the summer last year. I taught myself to embroider different designs and to embroider clothes. Although it takes a lot of time and patience, it is something I really enjoy. To capture this still life, I used a lot of different angles. I took them from the ground and from directly above. I set them up very structurally and the second one is actually my initials.
This still life contains a few of the records I own and showcases my interest in vintage items. I've always had a knack for vintage things, whether it was music, clothes, or any type of object. Vinyl is one of the many vintage things I own and collect. I really enjoy listening to music on a record player because of the way it sounds and how mesmerizing it is to watch the record spin. To capture this still life, I just placed the records next to each other or on top of one another. There weren't really that many ways I could think of to arrange them, so I made sure that the angle changed constantly.
