Title:The Layers of Me
Statement: Each layer of this selfie is intended to convey the different aspects of myself. The first layer was a photo of the sky and the clouds. This is because I love how vast it is and reminds me of my open-minded personality. The second layer of my selfie is a photo of a tree. Trees are always growing and it reminds me that I will too. I also love nature. My last layer was a photo of art that says, "Love is what you want." I included this because I have a deep admiration for art and am a hopeless romantic. This selfie I named "The Layers of Me," shows my prevalent personality traits and interests. |
Title: The Silver Lining to Life
Statement: This double exposure contains a selfie of me with a sunset. I chose a sunset because, like my title says, they are the silver lining to life. It serves as a reminder that the day always ends, which is important to remember when I'm having a bad day. I always like looking for sunsets because of the fact that it signals a new day will start tomorrow. They are also very beautiful with their hues of orange and blue. Compare/Contrast: I have definitely grown as a photographer and editor. I've learned that I should make adjustments to each photo and layer to enhance them, which is what I did in my double exposure, but not my selfie. My double exposure is much better because you can clearly see my face as well as the sunset, while in my selfie the layers look scrambled. The colors are more enhanced in the double exposure and more muted in the selfie. Also in my double exposure, the selfie and the sunset photo seem to work well together and compliment each other. In my selfie, the layers don't really work well together and there is no real theme.
